Austin Porcelain Veneers Dentist

For health. For beauty. For you.

Dr. Patel at the Center of Cosmetic & General Dentistry in Austin, Texas can place porcelain veneers in two or three visits. It's a relatively easy and painless procedure.

MAC Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of ceramic porcelain that are bonded directly to a tooth's front surface. The porcelain is translucent, like the tooth's natural enamel. Light will travel through it and be reflected back by the cement used to bond it to your teeth. This is similar to how light shines through natural enamel and is reflected back by the dentin underneath.

This means that porcelain veneers are virtually indistinguishable from your other teeth.

Am I a candidate for porcelain veneers in Austin?
If you have any of these conditions, you could be a good candidate for porcelain veneers:

  • Misalignment-due to lack of orthodontic treatment or trauma to the mouth
  • Crooked teeth - from either genetics or trauma
  • Old Restorations - older bonding can be replaced
  • Staining or discoloration-which may result from tobacco, caffeine or certain prescription medications
  • Chipping and wear-that occur over the years or as the result of an accident
  • Gaps-if they're small enough; large ones might require orthodontic work
  • Mild rotation-teeth that are slightly twisted or angled
  • Broken teeth - teeth that have broken from trauma can be restored
