How Invisalign® works
Invisalign® aligners move your teeth gradually and comfortably.
Dr. Patel will have a series of aligners made. They’ll be set at 2-week intervals, each one picking up from where the previous one left off in moving your teeth.

• Every 2 weeks, you’ll discard the set you’ve been wearing and start wearing the next set.

• About every 6 weeks, you’ll see Dr. Patel for a check on your progress.

• Each aligner applies gentle pressure, but not necessarily evenly all the time. Some teeth will receive more pressure from one set of aligners, and others more pressure from other sets, depending on the exact type of tooth movement is required in your case.

Easy and convenient

• The Invisalign® aligners are virtually invisible when worn

• Because they are removable, you can take them out when you want to enjoy your favorite sticky treats and pop them back in when you’re finished eating

• There’s no special cleaning procedure required—just brush and floss and your normally would

The average Invisalign® treatment lasts about one year. But the timeframe in any individual case depends on the amount of correction needed and the amount of time you wear the aligners. Ideally they should be worn at all times, barring those short periods when you remove them to eat or clean your teeth.
