For health. For beauty. For you.
I don’t like going to the dentist, and now I’ve neglected my teeth and I need a lot of work. I’d like to correct my dental problems with as few visits as possible. What should I do?
Many people are fearful about visiting a dentist. If you are one of those people, a good option may be sedation dentistry, where you can choose from several levels of sedation. You could get a prescription for a sedative to be taken before you go to the dentist’s office. By the time you arrive you’ll feel drowsy and relaxed. Dr. Patel may also give you a medication after you arrive, or provide you with nitrous oxide (laughing gas), the mildest of the sedatives. No matter how much anxiety or fear you have about the dentist office, we can provide you with a sedation dentistry option that will make you completely relaxed and comfortable during your dental appointment.

My friend recently had some dental work done and was given “laughing gas.” What is laughing gas?
Laughing gas is a common name for nitrous oxide, an agent that helps guests be comfortable during dental treatment. It’s administered by placing a mask over your nose and mouth while the dentist works.

Is sedation dentistry safe?
Sedation dentistry is completely safe. Dr. Patel has completed numerous courses in sedation dentistry. While you are under conscious sedation, Dr. Patel will monitor all your vital signs and make sure you are completely safe. Dr. Patel can inform you of the entire sedation dentistry procedure and what you can expect during your initial consultation.

Can I drive home after having sedation dentistry?
No. Even if you are not completely asleep during your procedure, the medication will affect your reflexes and judgment. Arrange to have a friend or family member accompany you and drive you home.
